The Kentian Society (Inc) began in the early 1990s as an alumni group and has since evolved into a registered charity managing a small community museum preserving the history of Kent Street Senior High School since it opened in 1940.

Our volunteers have catalogued thousands of artefacts—from building plans to historical photographs— and curate online exhibitions and some physical displays, as well as occasional loans to other organisations.

This work provides valuable historical insights for families, academic researchers, and the wider community interested in the development of education in the south-eastern suburbs of Perth.

Strategic & Operational Plans

In late 2023, our new Strategic Plan established four pillars for engagement by our members: networking, experiences, giving back, and sharing stories.

These pillars support our “making a difference” ethos, using stories of our alumni out in the world and having an impact to inspire current students and our fellow graduates.
