Where Perth’s History Goes To School

Kent Street Senior High School has been part of Perth’s south eastern suburbs since before most of its alumni can remember—and the school has a habit of producing people worth remembering.

A Governor-General. A Supreme Court justice. Three of the first students ever admitted to UWA’s Medical School. Olympians. Business leaders. People who went on to shape Western Australia, and who still look back at Kent Street as the place it started.

The museum, run by alumni, exists to make that history tangible—and the Kentian Society exists to keep it growing by co-sponsoring, with the Kentian Scholarship Foundation (Inc), an annual student scholarship, encouraging the involvement of alumni as volunteers or mentors for students, or through facilitating their reunions.
