Our forthcoming AGM will be held on Sunday 18 May 2025 at the Cricket Pavillion, Kent Street Senior High School (located off Rathay Street at the north-west corner of the school site). Doors will be open at 9.45am for a 10.00 am start. Morning tea will be provided.

We apologise for any inconvenience caused by the deferral of this meeting from its usual date at the end of March. However, this was caused by the need to make some further minor amendments to the Society’s Constitution to meet the requirements of the Australian Taxation Office. As such changes can only be made by Special Resolution at a General Meeting of the Society, it seemed best to defer our AGM by a few weeks so it could be done then.

The AGM documents that have been sent to all members who have provided their email address include:

Please note that only financial Society members (including Life and Graduate members) are entitled to vote at the AGM.

Members should also note that the Special Resolutions will need to be approved by no less than three-fourths of members voting at the meeting in order to be passed, and any Society member unable to attend the meeting has a right to appoint a proxy to vote on their behalf.

All members of the Executive group, and almost all general Committee members, have already indicated their willingness to stand again for their current positions. In addition, some other distinguished and highly experienced people have also indicated their interest in filling the remaining vacant Committee positions. Anyone else who’d like to contribute as a Committee member is welcome to complete a nomination form.

All people nominating for positions on the Management Committee should please be mindful that, if the Special Resolutions to amend the Society’s Constitution are approved, a majority of the people on the Committee will need to be able to meet the “public responsibility” test required by the ATO.
